By James DeRuvo (doddleNEWS)

NAB is still four months away and already we’re hearing about some exiciting news for DSLR users. There’s a new anamorphic lens that’s being developed to give shooters that ultra wide screen cinematic look.

We are extremely excited to introduce the new RH-1 Series lens for Canon DSLRs, compatible with the new 5D Mark III, 5D Mark II, 7D and others. – Canon’s – Robinson Hope Creative

This new anamorphic lens a combination of glass and reflective sublimation in order to effective double the wide screen capability of any currently available wide angle lens. The RH1 lens, which looks like a pair of binoculars screwed onto a camera, provides a fast aperture setting at f2.8  an ultra wide field of view, while promising no distortion.

The lens will be showcased at NAB in Las Vegas in the Spring of 2016 and while there are no other details, Robinson Hope says that the RH-1 will retail for less than $600. That’s a bargain for the ultra wide angle capability it promises to provide.
