Last year at NAB Show 2016, Bokkeh announced their Bokkelux T2 8K series prime lenses. Now the lenses are available at a very affordable price.

Bokkeh has five lenses in the Bokkelux series: 25mm, 35mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm, with a maximum image circle is approximately 46.1mm. There seems to be missing the obvious 18mm lens, but I suspect they’ll expand the line beyond the initial five offerings.

The company says that the new lenses will be able to resolve up to 8K, so they should pair nicely with RED’s Helium sensor. Bokkeh also seems to indicate that the lenses can be used on a Super 35mm. The lenses share the same 130mm length form factor and have placed the gears in the same place, which makes switching between them pretty quick. They also come with optional fluorescent markings.

The aperture on all of the Bokkelux T2 8K series lenses is T2 to T22, with the exception of the 25mm, which will be T2.1 to T22. Bokkeh also says the lenses produce a very pleasing bokeh, and the aperture’s 12 blades on each lens probably helps out a little bit with that. To get an example of the lenses, the company released a video using the 75mm prototype which you can watch here:

The new set of Bokkeh’s Bokkelux T2 8K series prime lenses are available from the site here. They come in EF, PL, E-mount, and Micro Four-Thirds mounts, but the first shipment will be only in EF and PL mounts. The 35mm, 50mm, and 7mm will run you about $3,500 each, while the 25mm and 100mm CF will cost around $3,800. Bokkeh is also releasing a complete set of the lenses for $14,980, which is for a limited pilot order of only 25 shipments. They’re going to leave the factory for delivery by the end of May.
