The Buzz Podcast – Documentary Filmmaking, the UnContest, NAB and more

By doddleNEWS

Last week on The Buzz Podcast, host Larry Jordan talked with key plug-in developers about how plug-ins have changed over the past few years, how they cope with the constant pressure for change, and what they have now that’s new.

And don’t miss this week’s Buzz podcast. The theme will be DOCUMENTARIES. Larry will be joined by guests:

  • Maxim Jago
  • David Tillman
  • Hoyt Richards
Plus doddleNEWS Editor in Chief James DeRuvo returns from CES with his annual Best of roundup. You can listen to the Buzz live or on demand at

Larry also needs your help with his “UnContest.” If you’re a user of either Final Cut Pro X or Adobe Premiere CC, and you have ideas on how you’d like to improve the interface Larry wants to hear from you. Last week, he received about 20 emails – 8 for Premiere, 12 for FCP X, not bad, be to give everyone a chance to share their thoughts, he’s decided to extend his request for one more week.

* Interface suggestions – not new features – for FCP Xclick here.

* Interface suggestions – not new features – for Premiereclick here.

Then, he’ll compile all the responses and publish them here next week, before sending a copy to Apple – for Final Cut – and another to Adobe – for Premiere. Hey, it doesn’t hurt to ask, right?

Send your suggestions now at the links above. Then check back next week to see what your fellow editors are complaining about!

Larry’s live PowerUp webinar this week will be about how to create speed changes to video clips in both Adobe Premiere and Apple Final Cut Pro X. Registration is always FREE – sign-up here – you have two different shows to choose from.

Lastly, it’s never too early to start thinking about attending NAB. We’ve got some exciting events planned, including five one hour live shows a day from the showroom floor. And we can get you passes to join us!  Just use registration code LV5269 when you sign up here.

Edit well!
