FiLMiC Pro Announces Worldwide Film Contest (Updated)

UPDATE: FiLMiC Pro has added a special behind the scenes category, and a prize.  If you have already entered the contest, all you need to is email your behind-the-scenes photos or videos capturing your production to If you haven’t, well, include it with your prize package. FiLMiC Pro is the app to use for mobile filmmaking, but they also love to hold contests. This time around, now accepting submissions for the 2018 One World Film Contest. The competition, which challenges mobile filmmakers to offer up their best short films, offers $25,000 in prizes.

The FiLMiC Pro One World Film Contest is in full swing and the world’s premiere mobile filmmaking app wants users to grab their smartphones and create a short film of six minutes or less before May 31st and submit it for competition. Categories include Fiction, documentary/news, travel log and places, music videos, animals are awesome, and the always entertaining “experimental” category.

Six winners will qualify for up to 25,000 in pries that include film gear from DJI, ShoulderPod, Sennheiser, Moondog Labs, Moment Lenses, iOgrapher, Western Digital, Rhino, Shure, BeastGrip, Joby and others.  FiLMiC Pro is also giving away a DJI Mavic Air drone for best behind the scenes content.

Wow. That’s a quite a war chest of prizes! One thing to note, however, the One World Film Contest is an international competition, and all winners outside of the US will be responsible for all import taxes, tarriffs and duties pertaining to shipping prizes overseas.


Submissions must be six minutes or less and must include the Shot with FiLMiC Pro bumper. That can be found here. All music must be licensed with model releases included where necessary. Submissions will be judged by an international panel assembled by FiLMiC Pro and will be based on criteria that includes originality, production value, and emotional and narrative value.
