iFootage Launches First Ever Video Competition, $40K in Prizes

Here’s another fun new video competition that promises over $40,000 in cash and prizes, including a RED Raven, lights, and  more. It’s from iFootage, and they hope their first annual short film contest will give filmmakers a fresh opportunity to showcase their talents.

iFootage is running its very first International Competition to encourage filmmakers across the globe to share their unique creative and technical talents. All you have to do is produce a 3 min – 10 min video. It’s an open brief, which means that you can work in any medium, on any subject, in any genre – it’s completely up to you!. Technically, iFootage wants it to be a minimum resolution of 1080p uploaded to Vimeo or YouTube, and the footage be uploaded before the deadline.   Here’s a brief overview of the basic rules:

  • Open to everyone on any topic and in any genre -open brief
  • Video entries must be between 3 and 10 minutes long
  • Entries must be original work that is produced specifically for the competition
  • Each entry must have a title
  • Selected work will be screened at a competition premier event
  • The finished work must be successfully uploaded by the agreed deadline
  • Content must not be offensive or defamatory to any individuals, groups or places.
  • The Judges’ decision is final.
  • Competition closes midnight 28-July-2019
  • Minimum Resolution 1080P
  • Upload to Vimeo or Youtube

No word on who will be judging the competition, but the prize breakdown is as follows:

1st Prize (Total Value $24,000):

Additionally, there will be a most “likes” winner, and a best motion control winner, plus two winners every month selected from those who like the iFootage Facebook and Instagram page, and who shares their competition announcement with the hashtag #ifootagewin2019. To register and read the entire rules, visit competition.ifootagegear.com. You can upload your footage at any point before the final deadline, on July 28, 2019 at midnight, presumably Pacific time, since iFootage is located in Los Angeles.
