Stock footage is a life saver for a lot of productions. The amount of time and money they have saved over the years is probably incalculable ,and have even allowed some projects to be put together with very little upfront production.
Despite all of that, there is still the matter of finding the right piece of stock footage and incorporating it into current projects. The workflow still leaves a bit to be desired, and that’s where Pond5’s new add-on for Adobe Premiere Pro comes in handy.
Pond5 is one of the premiere stock footage suppliers, with over seven million royalty-free video clips in their library. They also feature millions of music tracks, sound effects, photos and other leading-edge media, as well as run a database of freely available public domain media. Now they’ve added a new free add-on which allows you to search through their entire library directly in Premiere. Here is what Jason Teichman, CEO of Pond5, said in a statement:
“When we designed the Pond5 add-on for Adobe Premiere Pro, we knew that one of the most valuable things we could do was help our customers save time while improving their workflow. That’s why this seamless integration into the Adobe Premiere Pro CC interface brings users all the power of the Pond5 collection without ever forcing you to leave the application.”
The add-on is a very easy way to streamline the post-production workflow. When an editor needs to import some media in a current project, they can do so directly inside Premiere. The add-on will also allow editors to import comps directly into the project, so they can see how well or not the clip will fit into the timeline. When you purchase the clips, the add-on will instantly replace the watermarked version with the high res so it’s even faster to finalize the project.
Pond5 for Premiere Pro CC is available now for free. You can download it from Adobe’s Add-Ons section here. Here are the features and highlights for the add-on:
