Rumored Plot Details For Guardians 2 & Thor: Ragnarok

Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2By Danny F. Santos (doddleNEWS)

With Captain America: Civil War now in the past, it’s time to look forward to what’s coming next. There are two films within the MCU, which will be difficult for Marvel to produce for two very different reasons: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Thor: Ragnarok. Where the GotG Vol. 2 will have a tough time beating the original, the Thor franchise tends to be the weakest at the studio (unless you count the redheaded stepchild that is The Incredible Hulk).

Whether Guardians 2 can keep the momentum going and Ragnarok can finally elevate the Thor films will come down to story and execution. While we’ll have to wait a while before we can see how directors James Gunn and Taika Waititi pull off the stories, JoBlo is reporting some interesting story rumors that should have any comic book fan excited for both films.

Possible spoilers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Thor: Ragnarok, and Doctor Strange below!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Villain Revealed?

According to the outlet, Elizabeth Debicki has been cast in Guardians 2, and will be playing the villain Paragon, also known as HER, among other names. If you want to know why that’s exciting, it’s because she was created by The Enclave to be a perfect genetic being, but she wasn’t the first one they created. Their first creation was HIM, who is better known as Adam Warlock.

Despite James Gunn’s denials, I think it’s probably safe to say that Kurt Russell is Adam Warlock and Star-Lord’s father. Could it be that the cocoon we saw in the original Guardians wasn’t Adam Warlock’s, but rather Paragon’s? Or it could just be unrelated to either of them, but it would be an interesting tie in from the first film.

Thor: Ragnarok Will Feature Planet Hulk And More Story Details

Here’s a rumor that has been around for years: Planet Hulk will finally be featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe via Thor: Ragnarok. According to JoBlo’s sources, Bruce Banner/Hulk will find himself in gladiatorial combat run by Jeff Goldblum’s recently announced character, The Grandmaster. How he gets there is unknown but expect to see the Hulk decked out in his Planet Hulk armor.

Another visual change awaits Thor, as Chris Hemsworth will sport a close cropped haircut in the film. Considering the Planet Hulk angle, I can’t help but think part of the film will see Thor and Hulk both enslaved and forced to fight in the battle pits. The site also says that Thor’s mission is to find the ultimate weapon to stop Ragnarok and reset the universe. Off the top of my head, that can only be one thing: The Time Gem. That would leave only one more Infinity Stone to be discovered, which, according to the rumors, is located inside Doctor Strange’s Eye of Agamotto amulet.

Thor: Ragnarok will premiere in theaters on November 3, 2017, while Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will hit theaters on May 5, 2017.
