The Oscars 2017 Winners: Moonlight and La La Land

2017-Oscars-89th-Academy-AwardsBy Heath McKnight (doddleNEWS)

Despite an embarrassing blunder of who won Best Oscar (Moonlight, not La La Land), the 89th Oscars show is in the books, and we have the full list of winners below.

The winners aren’t too much of a surprise, though Oscar voters split the Best Director and Best Picture winners between La La Land (Damien Chazelle) and Moonlight, respectively. Usually the winner of Best Picture also receives best Director. Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Casey Affleck and Mahershala Ali were all expected to win in their categories. Visual Effects-wise, The Jungle Book makes sense, given how state-of-the-art the VFX were for Jon Favreau’s film.
