The RoboCop International Trailer

By Heath McKnight (doddleNEWS)

The new RoboCop film, starring The Killing’s Joel Kinnaman as Murphy/RoboCop, and directed by Jose Padilha (Elite Squad), was decried by some fans as a pointless remake, while others embraced the idea of a relaunch of the movie and TV series with fresh blood. After being delayed to February 2014, Sony debuted the first trailer to less-than-stellar opinions, they followed up with a great second trailer.

Now, the studio have released an international version of the RoboCop remake trailer, and it features Alex Murphy reborn as RoboCop and a lot more action and emotion. This one makes me more excited to see it. I was skeptical about a remake, but as a long-time fan of the first (and best) RoboCop with Peter Weller, I’m cautiously optimistic.

So what do you think of the trailers so far for the RoboCop remake? One interesting thing is they got rid of Murphy’s Robo-Voice from the first two trailers, and he sounds more human.

It also features a stellar cast, including Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Keaton, Jackie Earle Haley, Gary Oldman, Abbie Cornish, and more. It opens in IMAX and regular screens on February 12, 2014.
